All of Angela’s instructors have swimming backgrounds. Some are competitive swimmers themselves or some have children who are in competitive swimming. They are all CRB checked and ASA qualified. They all use Angela’s unique style and teaching methods.
I encourage people of all ages and abilities to learn to swim to a high standard. My career as an international swimmer is what inspires the unique style of teaching. Through the years I have taught over 3000 Children and Adults to swim and have enjoyed seeing the amazing results.
My name is Jean and I started working at Angela’s Swim School in December 2008. I have a real life long passion for swimming which started by representing Scotland Internationally at the age of 12. Being the Scottish record holder in 5 different events. I won every major competition in Scotland and was National Swim Star of the Year 1966. I competed in the Commonwealth Games in 1970 and later became a member of the 1974 Munich Olympic Squad. In 1985 I swam in the Masters First World Games in Canada, gaining two silver and one bronze medal whilst setting 5 British records.
My name is Andrew and I am a student at Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar school. I am currently studying for my A-levels and I am a part time swimming teacher with Angela’s swim School. I have been working there now 2 years,I love teaching and working with the children and seeing the results of them learning to swim to a high standard. I hold medals for swimming in Kent championships, cross country running and gymnastics. I also represented London in the London Youth Games.
An avid open water swimmer in my native South Africa, I re-discovered my passion for the water after my quest to get back into swimming and enjoy the water in the UK led me to Angela’s Swim School. Subsequently, I trained and qualified as an ASA Level 1 teacher in 2009. I have a special interest in Parent & Baby swimming and I hope to complete my ASA Level 2 as well as STA Baby & Preschool qualifications this year.
My name is Paul, I have a varied sporting interest although I have a particular passion for swimming. I was a member of a Swimming Club for 9 years, during which time I won medals at county and regional level. I feel having previously taught people of all ages in other sports has enabled me to feel more at ease while teaching swimming, which in turn allows the swimmers to feel more comfortable in my presence.
I have worked as a PA for several years and joined the staff of Angelas Swim School in March 2009. I am a qualified customer service practitioner. My role is varied and i enjoy meeting challenges. I didn’t realise the importance of being able to swim until i enrolled my children with Angelas Swim School. Its by far the best thing i have done for them, knowing that they will safe and confident in water.
